Disassembling and assembling a trampoline requires following specific steps. Safety is paramount; avoid violent disassembly that could damage parts.
1. Preparatory Work: First, review the trampoline's instruction manual and prepare essential tools: wrench, screwdriver, measuring tape, and rubber mallet (avoid scratching metal parts). Also, prepare protective gloves to prevent cuts. Clear the area around the trampoline to allow sufficient space for operation.
2. Disassembly Steps:
Removing the safety net and soft padding: First, unzip or fasten the safety net's zippers or Velcro straps, remove the clips from the net's uprights, and fold the entire net for storage. Then, remove the foam padding from the trampoline's edges and store it in a clean place.
Removing the springs: This is the most crucial step. Do not force the springs by hand. Use a spring hook tool (or a homemade thick wire hook) to hook one end of the spring and slowly pry it outwards, removing the springs one by one from the hooks on the steel frame and trampoline surface. Be careful to avoid spring rebound that could injure you.
Disassembling the Trampoline Surface: After completely detaching the trampoline surface from the hooks on the edge of the steel frame, lay it flat on the ground and fold it for storage.
Disassembling the Steel Frame Structure: First, unscrew the bolts and nuts at the joints of the steel frame. Gently tap the joints with a rubber mallet to separate the steel pipes into sections, paying attention to different lengths for easier reassembly later.
Storing Small Parts: Store small parts such as bolts, nuts, and clips in a sealed bag, labeling them to prevent loss.
3. Assembly Steps (Reverse of Disassembly Sequence)
First, align the steel pipe sections to their original positions and tighten the bolts to secure the overall steel frame structure.
Lay the trampoline surface flat on top of the steel frame, aligning it with the hook holes on the edge. Attach the springs one by one to the hooks on the steel frame and trampoline surface. It is recommended to install symmetrically from the center outwards to ensure even stress distribution on the trampoline surface.
Install the safety net and soft padding components, ensuring all clips and zippers are securely fastened.
4. Precautions
- Do not pull on the springs directly by hand when disassembling them, as the springs have a high elasticity and can easily cause finger injuries;
- Avoid dragging the steel frame on hard surfaces during disassembly and assembly to prevent scratching the paint or damaging the floor;
- Small home trampolines are lightweight and can be operated by one person, while large commercial trampolines require at least two people to operate;
- When storing, it is recommended to categorize and store each component separately to avoid long-term exposure to the outdoors, which can lead to rust and aging.
